This week, Simonetta Lein, social media influencer and founder of The Wishwall Foundation, visited Dignity Housing in Philadelphia, to deliver something pretty special.

Simonetta and her team were armed with an array of HOPE BOXES to deliver to the girls, but she delivered so much more on this very special afternoon.  The boxes themselves were beautiful, but it was Simonetta’s words that were the real gift, all the girls walked away incredibly happy, honored and inspired.

 Some words from Simonetta:
“These girls are daughters of single moms and they are victims of domestic violence. They received help and support by @dignityhousing and today we celebrated them. One of our missions is to foster new generations of women, so this is for them.

Today it was a WISH GRANTED, we thank everyone who supported us and keep on supporting us. We thank especially those who supported particularly this wish come true. If you are watching, please know that you are making a difference and we are grateful.

Together we can make many smiles, one wish at the time. In the picture there is our founder @simonettalein with the president of #thewishwallfoundation , member of the board of Dignity Housing and one of our girls with the Hope Box in her hands.

The Wishwall Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization and social community. The Foundation is built on the “pay it forward” philosophy. Its core principals are to give a voice to the voiceless and to help make meaningful wishes come true. The Wishwall Foundation is multi-faceted. It consists of The Wishwall Online and The Wishwall in Every City, where people can express their wishes and where the Foundation inspires them to help each other and grant those dreams that are more meaningful.

The Wishwall Foundation collaborates with other non-profit groups that promote social integration and the defense of human rights, as well as with companies who wish to sponsor worthy initiatives. The Wishwall Foundation seeks to be a global movement that inspires people and unites humanity through art, fashion, and goodwill.”

The WishWall Foundation believes giving HOPE is priceless…we agree.

Even though my mom is no longer here with us, she’s still helping children smile year after year through Peg’s Presents, which began in her honor.  We know it seems early to think of the holidays and gift-giving, but we really need your help now to begin shopping for the Christmas season (it always comes way too fast, and we have a lot to do to shop, coordinate and wrap the gifts for about 80 kids).

Please know that any amount helps us provide gifts to children in need.

If you can help, please head to our GO FUND ME  page – or – we’ll also accept new, unwrapped toys, just email me at lee@goodtobeyou.com

My MOM is still making children happy (and warming my heart) ❤️  Peg’s Presents is featured in the new Dignity Housing newsletter

The Holiday season is a time filled with laughter, cheer, delicious food and unforgettable family moments. Unfortunately, for many of Dignity Housing’s residents, the holidays are a disheartening, harsh reminder of past insufficiencies and pain. They enter Dignity’s program at or below the poverty level, and what little money they have gets spent on basic necessities for themselves and their families. This can be burdensome- especially for those with children who may not understand why they can’t have certain things during the holiday season.

Enter Lee and Andrew Sequeira of Peg’s Presents. The giving foundation is named after Lee’s mother, Margaret (Peg) Romano, who adored children and loved gift giving, so the idea of providing presents to children in need was the perfect way to honor her memory. After researching local charities online, Lee found Dignity Housing and knew it was her organization of choice. For the past 5 years, Peg’s Presents has been donating gifts to every child at Dignity Housing during our annual holiday party and we are incredibly grateful. They put so much thought into each and every gift and it’s so wonderful to see the joy on the childrens faces when they receive special gifts from their “Holiday Angels”. We must not, in trying to think about
how we can make a big difference,
ignore the small daily differences we
can make which, over time, add up to
big differences that we often cannot
foresee.”
~ Marian Wright Edelman

The quote above is a perfect illustration of how every little bit can help us at Peg’s Presents warm a child’s heart by providing a birthday gift they would not otherwise receive.

One (FUN) idea is to start a Peg’s Presents Piggy Bank!

We’re not even asking you to give up your daily latte, and we can assure you the return on your investment (the ear-to-ear grin of a very a happy child) is priceless! AND, you can show your kids how to help others.
